Shani Rose is a “Pop/rock songstress with a Soulful Crunch”, who’s vocals are like the delicate fizz of champagne being poured into a glass. She has a unique way of combining her acoustic coffeehouse bravado with hook-laden, anthemic sounds to create pop gem
The Los Angeles native has taken this “Soulful Crunch” and become her own breed of songwriter---with influences from Adele, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, and Norah Jones --she could almost be considered an Adorah Barelson. Shani was first inspired by these strong musical ladies (among many other artists) when she was studying jazz piano, songwriting, and composing at USC’s Thornton School of Music. So inspired, in fact, that in 2009 she self-recorded and produced her first EP “Warm Rain”, and hit the road touring with it.
Since then, Shani graduated from USC’s Thornton School of Music, received a Masters in Music Education, and went on to audition and become accepted as a featured artist at the world famous Universal Citywalk in Hollywood. She has had the honor of headlining the 5 Towers main stage at Universal Citywalk (sharing the stage with the likes of Ceelo, Colbie Callait, and Kina Grannis) where she released her debut studio album “Merry Go Round” in early 2013.
After gracing stages at Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, and opening up for artists such as Kina Grannis and Tess Henley, Shani achieved notable success for her songwriting, reaching the semifinals and finals in prestigious songwriting contests such as the International Songwriting Competition, the Newsong Contest, and Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition.
Shani is planning for a new EP release in early 2017. To learn more, visit ShaniRose.com.
